Shell Without a Pearl

Why you tryin’ to hold me back?

What’d I ever do, but try to stay intact?

Your darkness is all around..

you hung the sun on a rack

Waiting for someone to rekindle it

But the fire already went black,

a long time ago

you’re no Jon Snow

more like the guy in American Psycho

Beware, I’ll grip my samurai sword real slow

Come at you verbally, quoting some Thoreau

inside your head you’re thinking you’re genius like Van Gogh

But I think you need set your clock radio

Meet me at sunset like it’s a western bro

Whether that be the street or related to the sun.. you’ll know…

So turn your little wind up on your back,  let’s go…

Before you run out of steam, and reach a new low..

Those who shouldn’t speak have the loudest of words..

They say nothing, get the intellectual stirred

Then walk away screaming your jealous like a little girl

While they sit there empty, a shell without a pearl..

Why you trying to hold me back?

You afraid if I come out, I’ll expose what you lack?

You think you ran a marathon, when it takes time to create the track…

You disrespect, then put on a victim act..

Go take a shower, wake up to the fact

You’re becoming an illusionist, and you have no tact

Some days be faking it, but people know how you really interact..

See beyond the pearly gates of your heavenly act

See the fiery gates of hell are out back

Cuz how hard is it for you to be nice for a week?

Come live in my neighborhood, you’re no beast..

Keep speaking with a false tongue, your power will cease..

and I’ll be waiting here with my fist,

having to resist the urge to beat…

The bubble, you’ll take so long to discover…

Cuz you’re more dark than the others..

Eyes so jaded, even the third one be sundered…

Those who shouldn’t speak have the loudest of words..

They say nothing, get the intellectual stirred

Then walk away screaming your jealous like a little girl

While they sit there empty, a shell without a pearl..
